Just when you thought Liverpool were done with their transfers following the latest signing of Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers, a story about a new arrival pops up.
It’s not a small one either, as it involves Kalidou Koulibaly, with the Reds still trying to get him paired up with Virgil Van Dijk for the coming season.
This is according to Le Parisien in France, who look at the player’s situation and his potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the player remains ‘far’ from the Ligue 1 club, as he wants to join Manchester City and has ‘already agreed contractual terms’ with the Premier League side.
But, and it’s a big one, Liverpool haven’t given up, as they are ‘forcing to convince the player via his friend and compatriot Sadio Mané to win the raffle’.
As for Paris Saint-Germain, it’s stated that multiple sources have told Le Parisien the French club ‘don’t have the means’ to do such a transfer this summer, with Napoli discarding the option of a loan for the 29-year-old.
This is a big claim from the newspaper, and we’ll see if there’s more from it in the coming days, but if the opportunity to sign Koulibaly arises, Liverpool would certainly be foolish to let it slip through their fingers.
