When Liverpool were desperately looking for a centre-back in January, one of their options was Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car.
The centre-back was one of many options considered by the Reds, which the player was excited about, to the point where he was said to be waiting for an outcome at a local airport in case he needed to take off quickly.
That never happened, and although Caleta-Car admitted to having the option to leave, he wasn’t entirely against staying either.
Things have changed since then, with Jorge Sampaoli taking over from André Villas-Boas, and after a few games, the Argentine has started to decide who he wants to keep.
While the likes of Florian Thauvin and Jordan Amavi are on his list, RMC Sport, in a video, explain that neither the Croatian defender nor Boubacar Kamara will be kept should an ‘interesting offer’ arrive on the table.
There’s no mention of Liverpool, but Le10 Sport, primarily covering the aforementioned info, do add in their article that Caleta-Car ‘is hoping to see the Jürgen Klopp’s Reds come back’ in the summer.
Whether they do, however, remains to be seen, especially with other names now being thrown around.
