Meant to help Olivier Ntcham find some new form after a disappointing first half of the season at Celtic, the loan to Marseille has been anything but a success.

Putting aside the fact that the deal was the ‘official’ reason behind André Villas-Boas stepping down, there was a chance for the midfielder to prove everyone wrong and perform, but he hasn’t been able to do that.

Subbed off at half time four times since his arrival, the Celtic player has fallen down the pecking order in the south of France, with Jorge Sampaoli seemingly reluctant to use him for anything more than a cameo.

His last appearance came in the 3-3 draw against Montpellier, where he came on for one measly minute, and it’s no surprise to find out his future will be far from the Ligue 1 side.

According to RMC Sport in a video on their website, Sampaoli already has in mind some of the players he wants to work with next year, and the Celtic man isn’t one of them.

They state that neither Ntcham nor Michaël Cuisance will be bought from their loans, with them returning to the Parkhead side and Bayern Munich respectively.
