Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is still of interest to Liverpool as they look for signings to replace Jordan Henderson and Fabinho following their moves to Saudi Arabia.
That’s according to the Bayern Insider podcast, relayed by Voetbal Primeur, who say the midfielder is still open to a departure this summer.
They explain that after a frustrating first season at Bayern last year following a move from Ajax, the Dutchman wants more playing time in the coming months and assurances he will get it.
There is a big question of whether he can succeed at the Allianz Arena and because of that a summer departure has not been excluded.
At the moment, Liverpool have the best chances of signing him and they remain keen on him following the numerous reports earlier this year regarding their interest.
Bayern Insider state that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is particularly fond on Gravenberch and believes the 21-year-old could live up to his potential at Anfield.
He’s already strengthened his midfield with Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister this summer but the departures of Henderson and Fabinho, as well as Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain means there is space in his midfield to be filled.
Whether a transfer happens is entirely dependent on Bayern Munich and at this moment in time it’s unclear whether they will sanction a loan move or a permanent exit.
Gravenberch was publicly dissatisfied with his role last season, though, and with Liverpool keen there is the possibility of something happening in the coming weeks.
