It’s been a while since the name Reinier was associated to Liverpool, but Le10 Sport in France have brought the story back to life on Wednesday.
The Flamengo youngster, who has yet to make a first team appearance for the Brazilian side, was linked with the Reds last April after it was claimed the Premier League side had ‘initiated talks’ to sign him.
Nothing really came of it, but that doesn’t mean Liverpool have forgotten about him, and nor have other clubs around Europe.
Le10 Sport mention the Reds as competition for two big Champions League clubs in Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, who both enjoy a strong Brazilian contingent in their respective squads, much like Jürgen Klopp’s.
The 17-year-old, despite not featuring for Flamengo just yet, already has three Brazil U17 caps to his name, picking up one goal in a 3-2 loss to the United States last October where he also captained his country.
