Sunday’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport has two stories which bring Liverpool transfer claims.
First up is the situation of Ronald Araujo, with Barcelona trying to reach agreement on a renewal with the Uruguayan central defender.
The 22-year-old has a deal which expires in 2023, and that hasn’t been changed since his days with Barcelona’s B side. Therefore, he’s paid far less than his teammates, and the first renewal offer doesn’t do enough to address that.
Several clubs have been in contact with the player, report Sport, and one of those is Liverpool. The Reds have picked up the phone to find out Araujo’s views on a move in the summer transfer window, when, if he doesn’t renew, he’ll have less than a year of contract left.
The other player in question is Brazil wonderkid Endrick.
Owned by Palmeiras, the 15-year-old has been receiving plenty of attention in recent weeks.
One of the clubs interested is Barcelona, so Sport have done some digging for further information. They say their owned sources have confirmed officials from Liverpool, Manchester City and Sevilla have all watched the player recently, as the beginning of a transfer battle develops.
