According to reports in the Italian media, Liverpool are set to offer Emre Can a bumper deal to keep him at the club. The Germany international has been linked with a move to Serie A champions Juventus in recent weeks.
Calciomercato have reported Liverpool are looking to secure the future of Can on Merseyside by offering him a five year deal. The German will be offered €6m plus bonuses a season by the Premier League side. Can has just 12 months left on his current deal with Liverpool, which makes the matter pressing.
However, Liverpool are still bracing themselves for Can refusing this offer, and there’s a possibility they could sell him in this window. The Reds risk losing the midfielder for free next summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal, and he can start to speaking to other clubs in January with regards to a pre-contract agreement.
Juventus have been strongly linked in the Italian media, and Calciomercato say Can’s choice won’t only be about money, with the Turin club having a better chance of winning things.
