Arthur Melo’s struggles at Juventus last campaign saw him join Liverpool, on loan with an option to buy, on the deadline day of the last transfer window.

After making his debut for the Reds last month, the midfielder has not featured for them, as an injury has kept the 26-year-old on the sidelines since then.

He had to go under the knife and that will force spend more time away from the pitch.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Brazil international’s start to life at Liverpool has been ‘one to forget’, seen as a combination of both his injury and the Merseyside club’s poor start to this season.

It’s explained the former Barcelona man is expected to be out of action for three to four months, which means he will not return to action at least before the end of January.

Arthur has been on the pitch for only 13 minutes for Jürgen Klopp’s side and that came in their Champions League defeat to Napoli.

The latest setback could make it difficult for the South American to find his way at Liverpool, even once he regains full fitness in 2023.

The player’s situation will not please himself, Liverpool and Juventus, who want to get rid of him permanently, and were hoping this loan to Klopp’s side could rekindle a dwindling career.
