Liverpool ‘have their sights set’ on Borussia Dortmund youngster Youssoufa Moukoko as the big agencies all battle to try and secure his signature.
That’s according to SportBILD, who cover the agent battle for the player today ahead of a potential big move away from Dortmund in the near future.
They explain that Moukoko will soon be able to sign the contract that defines his future, with his 18th birthday rapidly approaching and a decision needing to be made.
Most expect him to sign a long-term contract with Dortmund after developing there over the last few years but nothing is clear behind the scenes.
That’s because something of a consultant fight has broken out for the player, with all the major agencies in Europe trying to poach him from his current agents Wasserman.
Moukoko is seen as something of a prize capture as because his contract is expiring agents can demand a bigger fee, with figures in the tens of millions a possibility if he were to move to England. That figure is already rising, and consequently pricing Dortmund out of the market.
There is interest in the Premier League too, with Liverpool one of those to have ‘set their sights’ on the highly rated forward, who recently became the youngest player ever to reach 10 Bundesliga goals.
The full package to sign him would be more than €30m, a figure Liverpool could comfortably afford and would likely be willing to pay for one of the highest rated youngsters in Europe.
Dortmund have a contract ready to be signed but Moukoko’s parents have taken over as his guardians after a dispute with his agent, Patrick Williams, who Moukoko’s father has accused of greed.
That rift is what has opened the door for the other agencies to try and move in, perhaps in the hope of pushing the player to England to secure themselves a quick and sizeable profit.
