The Italian media brings today some news on the future of Liverpool fullback Konstantinos Tsimikas.
The 25-year-old has been linked to Napoli this summer, and local claims now confirm that the Serie A side made an approach for his signing.
RAI journalist Ciro Venerato spoke today about the transfer business involving the blue club, and when asked about Tsimikas, he claims that Liverpool are not making his departure easy.
“Liverpool shot Napoli down: they don’t want to transfer the player on loan,” said Venerato (via Area Napoli).
Liverpool spent €13m to sign Tsimikas from Olympiacos last summer.
Besides struggling with injuries in his first season with the Reds, he was barely used when available, making only seven appearances.
As the only back up for Andy Robertson, it’s easy to see why Liverpool wouldn’t be keen to let him go temporarily, as money coming in from a sale would at least give them funds to find an adequate replacement.
Either way, it looks like whoever is interested in the Greek player will have to make a convincing offer to sign him this summer.
