At the rate this is going, half of the Premier League will have been linked with Marash Kumbulla by the end of the season.
First we had Manchester United and Everton sporadically mentioned during the January transfer window, which was then followed by Manchester City on Monday.
Now, it’s Liverpool’s turn to take a look at what the Albania international has to offer.
Owning the best centre-back in the world isn’t enough for them, it seems, as they could be among the long list of clubs vying for Kumbulla’s services for next season.
Gazzetta dello Sport explain that Manchester City and Manchester United have been following the player ‘for months’, but they aren’t the only ones.
The Italian newspaper also reveal that Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have been doing the same, as have some of the big teams in Spain (although they aren’t named).
All this interest obviously has Verona licking their lips ahead of the summer, who know full well a sale could help them financially long-term, but they aren’t getting ahead of themselves.
Gazzetta state those in charge of the Serie A club already have Kumbulla valued at around €30m, but that price could continue to rise over the next 15 league games if his performance levels don’t dip.
For a team like Liverpool, those prices aren’t exactly extortionate, and it seems fair to assume the defender will end up at another club next summer.
Whether that means he heads to Anfield, however, depends entirely on the Reds.
