Despite recent claims from Germany of Liverpool making real efforts to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, it doesn’t appear like the Reds are as keen on the transfer as the player is.
For over a year there’s been claims from Werner’s home country of how well he’d fit into Jurgen Klopp’s system at Liverpool and how much the striker would fancy the move, even if he’d face a very tough battle to win a place.
All around mainland Europe, Liverpool are considered the frontrunners for the RB Leipzig player, and that’s mentioned in Sunday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
On top of that, there’s the problem of Werner’s clause needing to be deposited before the end of April. With the economic difficulties football clubs now face, that timeline is a serious issue.
It could be that no club move for the Leipzig star before the end of the month, despite all the repeat claims about Liverpool and interest from elsewhere.
