No Lucas Leiva to Galatasaray, at least for now reports Fotomac. The Both sides have been in negotiations, but Fotomac report Galatasaray are refusing to give into the Liverpool midfielder’s demands, and the Turkish club are now ready to break off from talks.
It’s been claimed the Liverpool veteran wants £3m per year from Galatasaray, and he also wants a £1.5m signing on fee. Lucas rejected Galatasaray’s first offer saying his wage shouldn’t be paid in Euros, and he’s said it’s non-negotiable as he only wants to be paid British Sterling.
His confidence in the currency could be considered odd given the current financial climate, and that could be a reason to doubt the claims.
The Galatasaray board are refusing to sign Lucas under these circumstances and talks have now stalled.
Liverpool are currently fighting with four teams for the final two Champions League places, and Jurgen Klopp kept Lucas this season as experienced back-up.
The Brazilian’s future will be decided at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether he leaves the club which he has served for ten years.
Despite having hopes a few days ago that a deal was on the verge of being agreed, things have now taken a step back.
