After days reporting Benfica’s interest in the Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno, the Portuguese press now brings quotes from the player’s agent confirming it.
Newspaper O Jogo managed to speak to Javier Moya, who represents the 26-year-old. The agent not only talked about the Eagles’ chase, but also teased with this possibility as well.
“There is interest in Benfica and it is something that pleases the player, because Benfica are a great club,” Javier Moya told O Jogo.
The quotes are included in a story the newspaper has today about the future of Alex Grimaldo. With Borussia Dortmund and Napoli both keen on signing the player, Moreno is the number one target to replace him next season.
There aren’t many details about the negotiations for Moreno today. What O Jogo says is that there’s competition for the Liverpool player from Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.
On Thursday, newspaper A Bola claimed Benfica already knew the player’s demands to sign for them. It’s been claimed he wants a long deal, ‘of four or five years’, making €3m net per season.
