Liverpool could soon be playing a tournament against Argentine clubs, according to claims from the South American country.
ESPN journalist Gustavo Yarroch reports there’s an agent who’s been approaching Buenos Aires sides for a pre-season competition.
He says the official has been in touch with River Plate and Boca Juniors, who would compete against Liverpool and Galatasaray.
He claims the tournament could be played in June or in January, although it’s a bit obvious the Reds would only accept an invite for the middle of the year.
It’s still not clear if Liverpool and Galatasaray are confirmed in the tournament, or if just like River Plate and Boca Juniors, they’re being approached for now.
On ESPN (via Bola Vip), Yarroch has claimed that the invite to the Argentine clubs will be made formal once they can agree dates and numbers for the competition to take place. The tournament would be played in Turkey.
