Fanatik report Liverpool have offered €18m to sign Domagoj Vida, but Besiktas have rejected the offer as they want €35m for the Croatian defender.
The player has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past week.
Vida has been one of the stars at this summer’s World Cup for Croatia, impressing in defence for his country. The 29 year old scored during extra time in Croatia’s quarter final against Russia as he’s now set to face England on Wednesday in the last four of the competition.
According to Fanatik, Everton, Fulham and West Ham are also keeping tabs on the player, but the Turkish club’s president Fikret Orman is determined not to sell him for under €35m, which he’s made clear to the Liverpool board.
Vida joined Besiktas on a free transfer in the last window and the Turkish club look set to get a make a huge profit on the player.
The defender is under contract at Besiktas until 2022.
Should Croatia win the thing, then Vida’s price will likely soar even further. It’s got to levels now which are unrealistic and if Liverpool interest is genuine then they’re probably best waiting a couple of weeks for everything to calm down.
