Inter Milan plan to be ‘loud and clear’ about Nico Barella should Liverpool make a move for him in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who pick up on reports that the Reds are keen on the Italian as they plan a rebuild of their midfield this summer.
A report from Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today stated that Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Barella and was eyeing him as part of a rebuild in the summer.
It was made clear in that report that Inter are not interested in a sale and the player is not pushing for an exit either, with him likely to cost €80m more if they push for a transfer.
CM pick up on that, stating that Liverpool ‘pounce’ on the player but are likely to be met with a wall of resistance.
There is a ‘concrete idea’ at Anfield regarding him and that could become a ‘serious threat’ for Inter as Barella is at the top of Klopp’s list to reinforce the midfield alongside Jude Bellingham and Brighton’s Moisés Caicedo.
He has ‘never hidden’ his love for the Italian midfielder and is now considering making an offer that could ‘sway’ Inter president Steven Zhang.
He isn’t interested in selling the player and he’s not on the market but the club’s need for money means that ‘everyone has a price’.
Barella is the same but is valued ‘very high’ at around €70-75m minimum. That price is seen as a ‘message’ that will soon reach Liverpool ‘loud and clear’.
Whether it is enough to dampen his interest remains to be seen but the stance in Italy is clear, it will take a significant sum to get him out of Inter this summer.
