Borussia Dortmund have rejected an offer of €12m (around £10m) for Christian Pulisic from Liverpool, reports Kicker.

Kicker say negotiations with Liverpool were only about a permanent sale, and that the possibility of a loan is ‘not an option’.

It was always unlikely Dortmund would accept a €12m offer from Liverpool for Pulisic, as the 17 year old US international is very highly rated in Germany.

Pulisic was left on the bench for Dortmund’s 2-1 win over Mainz, and he’s got a lot of players in front of him, but it remains to be seen if Liverpool will come back with a bigger offer.

Earlier, reports in the local Liverpool media suggested Liverpool are ready to wait for Pulisic if they can’t sign him this summer.

Liverpool already have plenty of options in attack, and it’s unlikely they’ll push too much for Pulisic in the final days of the transfer window.

Last week it was reported by German newspaper Bild that Stoke City were prepared to pay €20m to sign Pulisic this summer.

Also last week, the player’s father talked down a possible move, explaining: “There is no interest from Christian to leave the club. Last season he had a good six months and will continue to prevail.”
