The Catalan media regularly cover English clubs trying to take talents from La Masia. It’s been a source of fury for some years, and this weekend Mundo Deportivo have looked at Liverpool efforts to snatch players from the club.
Barcelona are right now trying to get a series of young players to renew, so they can protect them from other sides swooping in, but some are said to have already been contacted by Liverpool.
Abel Ruiz and Juan Miranda have offers from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, explain Mundo Deportivo, and one of the ‘clearest’ is Liverpool.
On 18 year old forward Abel Ruiz, Liverpool are said to have met several times with the player’s entourage, using the U17 World Cup in India as an opportunity to do so.
Liverpool are also trying to ‘tempt’ Juan Miranda, an 18 year old left back, to snub Barcelona renewal attempts and move to England instead.
The Catalan club are trying to fight back and have scheduled meetings to discuss a new contract.
Looking to sign the players up from the end of the season, Liverpool will have a difficult task on their hands.
