Liverpool are on the ‘long list of admirers’ for Torino defender Per Schuurs, with Jurgen Klopp having followed him since his time at Ajax.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who insist that Liverpool and other suitors will need to offer a ‘mountain of millions’ if they wish to sign the centre back this summer.
They newspaper explains that Schuurs performances this season ‘make noise’ as the Dutchman has proved to be an adequate replacement, and then some, for Gleison Bremer, who left last summer to join Juventus.
His profile is now ‘circulating among Europe’s big clubs’ and Liverpool are one of those who are on the list of his admirers.
Their interest is a longstanding one as Jurgen Klopp has followed the player since he was a youngster at Ajax. Indeed, a report last month insisted that they were at the ‘forefront’ for him and ready to offer €50m to secure his signature.
At the moment they are yet to make a serious move for him and if they do so they will need to make a major effort to tempt him out of Torino.
Not only do they need to convince the club into a sale with a huge offer, but they will also need to convince the player, who is thinking about spending another year where he is to continue his development.
In terms of Torino, it would take an offer that simply could not be refused to test their resolve and they currently value the player at €40-50m.
That’s a figure that ‘does not scare’ his suitors in the Premier League, including Liverpool, who would not mind spending that much as far as other reports are concerned.
