Over the course of the season, we’ve done many articles about Liverpool’s potential transfer targets, and what we’ve learned more than anything is that they need a left-back.
Considering Alberto Moreno seems to have been discarded almost completely by Jürgen Klopp, with James Milner shoehorned into the role, albeit performing impressively, someone has to be brought in at some point.
With no-one purchased during the January transfer window, this summer should see someone come in, and RAI Sports journalist Ciro Venerato, relayed by Il Napoli Online, seems to think that man could be Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam.
The Italian reporter revealed over the weekend the Algeria international is certain to leave the Serie A side in the upcoming transfer window, with Anfield one of three potential destinations for the player.
Out of the three, which also include Tottenham and Atlético Madrid, Liverpool are by far the likeliest to offer Ghoulam first team football next season, putting them as the hypothetical favourites in this situation.
Considering Venerato reported in January that Manchester City had made contact with the player’s entourage about a possible transfer, something he seems to have completely forgotten now, it remains to be seen if these claims are worth paying attention to.
We’ll probably find out soon enough.
