Back in January, Gazzetta dello Sport reported an alleged Wolverhampton Wanderers bid for Inter’s Andrea Pinamonti.
Having already signed three strikers over the past year (Benik Afobe and Léo Bonatini on loan + Rafa Mir from Valencia), going for the 18-year-old starlet made little sense; an opinion we expressed at the time.
Since then, the idea of selling Pinamonti has been an under the radar option for Inter to make some money to help with Financial Fair Play regulations, and they aren’t short of suitors, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, with a long list of European clubs, like Liverpool, keeping an eye on the striker.
The Italian newspaper on Friday explain that, as well as the Reds, Paris Saint-Germain, Valencia and Atlético Madrid, have been impressed by his performances in the UEFA Youth League, where he scored six goals in six games.
As of yet, no valuation has been made public, but taking into account his talent and the fact he has three years left on a contract he renewed just last year, he probably won’t be the cheapest.
Considering how deadly Jürgen Klopp’s attack have been this season, it remains to be seen if another attacking reinforcement will be needed, although there’s a good chance Danny Ings might need replacing at some point.
