Max Kruse will this summer leave Werder Bremen.
The German club had been confident they could keep the 31 year old striker beyond the current campaign, and the story did lean that way for some months, even if there was said to be interest from Tottenham Hotspur and others.
Then, things began to change, an eventually Kruse announced he’d be leaving the club, and now Liverpool are being linked with a swoop for the free agent.
Germany’s Sport1 say the veteran is looking for a ‘major contract’, but everything else has to be right too. He wants the correct sporting project, and a city where he’ll feel good at this stage of his career.
Liverpool are said to have asked for information on how to sign the player. That could be related to what kind of salary he’s expecting, and any signing on fee.
His demands are likely to be ‘in the higher single digit million range’, which will relate to Euros.
Bayern Munich are also keen, although Sport1 believe it’s questionable they’d pay so much.
Is this just a case of Liverpool being linked to a Bundesliga player because of Jurgen Klopp? Tome may tell.
