According to Aksam, Liverpool remain ‘very insistent’ in signing Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.
The Croatia international has been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks following his impressive showing in the World Cup this summer.
Vida is said to be receiving attention from Premier League clubs, with Liverpool being one of those. Last week it was claimed in the Turkish press Besiktas president Firket Orman will travel to England to hold talks with the Merseyside club after reports they’ve tabled an offer in the region of €22m.
However, Aksam say Besiktas aren’t in a hurry to sell Vida and will wait for the right offer. It’s claimed they are looking for offers over €22m, meaning Liverpool may need to increase their latest claimed bid for the player.
Liverpool expect to face competition from West Ham United after reports they too will hold talks with Orman following their €22m offer.
Wherever Vida goes this summer Besiktas stand to make a good profit on the defender after landing the Croatian on free transfer in January.
