Liverpool are in the lead to sign Club Brugge star Noa Lang, according to reports.
Over the past few weeks, Leeds United and Arsenal have been pushed forward as the Premier League sides who are most keen to take the winger.
Calciomercato now state the Reds have joined the chase for the Netherlands international and this is detailed when discussing AC Milan’s meeting with the 22-year-old’s agent.
During October’s international break, Milan chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara met Lang’s representatives to understand the money needed to secure their client’s services. In addition to this, they also asked about the competition they will face to sign the player.
It’s said several Premier League side are ‘pressing’ on the Dutchman and the Merseyside club are among them. It’s not just that as the report states Jürgen Klopp’s side are ‘in the front row’.
Lang is valued at €25m, and both Maldini and Massara will have to make a decision in the coming weeks, on whether or not to make a firm approach for the Jupiler Pro League man.
Earlier this week, Club Brugge manager Philippe Clement admitted his side will not be able to hold on to Lang, if they receive an offer in January.
“I am realistic when it comes to these things. If an impossible to refuse offer comes in for him, we won’t be able to stop him in January. I’d rather he finishes the season, takes a title and is important, but we’ll see what happens in January,” Clement said.
