Following claims saying Everton were interested in the signing of Red Bull Bragantino midfielder Eric Ramires, a big part of the Brazilian media went after this story to get more information on it.
It turns out that in an update from Jorge Nicola, it’s now reported that instead of the Toffees, it’s actually Liverpool who are chasing the 21-year-old.
The journalist claims that when speaking to people at Bragantino, he was assured that there were never any talks with Everton regarding a summer transfer.
This same source told Nicola that Liverpool have been keeping ‘frequent contacts’ with the Brazilian club for the purchase.
Bragantino, however, are said to be playing a ‘hard game’ in the negotiations, as they demand €15m to let Eric Ramires go.
It isn’t said if Liverpool are willing to pay that much on the signing or not.
The most relevant information here is probably that despite the many comments on Everton’s interest, it’s the Reds who seem closer to signing the midfielder.
