Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp could ‘interfere’ in Borussia Dortmund’s effort to sign a player this summer.

The Reds coach’s old club are set to part ways with Jadon Sancho, with Manchester United leading the race to acquire his services.

Faced with the possibility of losing Sancho, BVB have identified PSV Eindhoven’s Donyell Malen as a potential candidate to replace the England international.

Bild reported the Bundesliga side’s interest in the 22-year-old and Sky Germany have further backed up their claims.

Sky transfer expert Max Bielefeld states Marco Rose’s side are a ‘candidate’ to take the forward and he’s ‘definitely on Dortmund’s list’.

However, ‘there’s a catch’. According to the report, the Merseyside club ‘should also hold talks’, but it isn’t made clear whether the talks should be held with the Netherlands international or his club.

Liverpool are looking to initiate talks to sign Malen because they could ‘possibly lose Mohamed Salah’.

Malen is managed by Mino Raiola and has three years left on his PSV contract. He finished the 2020/21 season with 27 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
