Over the past few weeks, the Italian media have stated Liverpool and Juventus are keen on signing Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners in the summer window.
Tutto Atalanta provides the latest and this could favour Liverpool in their efforts to try to sign the 26-year-old.
The Serie A side want €60m for the midfielder, which would put the deal beyond the Turin club’s reach. If the Netherlands international were to change clubs in the next window, he’s likely to leave Italy.
This is when Liverpool are mentioned as it’s explained that the Reds ‘in particular emerge as a realistic destination’ for the player. That’s because the Merseyside club have already held talks with both La Dea representatives and the player’s agent.
Tutto Atalanta provide no information on how Liverpool’s meeting with the Italian club and Koopmeiners’s camp progressed, or if the Premier League side are willing to meet Atalanta’s request for the Dutchman.
The asking price shouldn’t be an issue as Tuttosport reported on Tuesday that Liverpool would have no problem paying the fee demanded for Koopmeiners.
It was also stated Arne Slot, who is set to replace Jürgen Klopp, could provide an edge for the Reds to beat Juve. The current Feyenoord manager knows the player well from their time at AZ Alkmaar.
