There’s nothing like the French and the English press disagreeing on something, and that’s exactly what they’re doing regarding Thomas Lemar and Liverpool.
Back in early February, the Liverpool ECHO reported the Reds had cooled their interest in the Monaco left-midfielder, mostly due to how expensive he would end up being.
Well, that’s not what Le10 Sport are claiming this month in their magazine, explaining that ‘over the past few weeks’, Jürgen Klopp’s side have ‘made some good moves’ in the direction of the France international.
In fact, they go as far as saying that an ‘agreement in principle’ is close to being reached between the two parties, and with Monaco giving Lemar the green light to leave in the summer, Liverpool ‘aren’t far away from having done most of the work’ when it comes to signing the 22-year-old.
The principality side were asking for around £90m in the summer, but with injuries disrupting his current campaign, that number could very well drop a bit going into the next transfer window, especially with just two years left on his deal.
