The addition of Liverpool to the race for Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes is once again highlighted by the Portuguese press today.
This time, it’s Correio da Manhã who reports the Reds have an advantage in this battle, which would be Rafael Camacho.
Liverpool and Sporting have been negotiating the transfer of Camacho to Lisbon for a few months now, and it’s finally mentioned that he could be included in a deal for Fernandes.
Several times it’s been stated the Lisbon club wouldn’t be interested in such a deal, just wanting cash, but they may be persuaded.
It’s said Camacho wants to sign for Sporting and could even force his way out of Liverpool, so Jurgen Klopp’s club could have this bonus when negotiating for Fernandes.
Correio da Manhã writes that Liverpool had already offered €45m for Fernandes, and although they’re unlikely to reach the €70m demanded by Sporting.
With Miguel Pinho travelling to England, it’s claimed they ‘should’ use the opportunity to ‘formalise a proposal’.
The expectation is of a second offer, including Camacho.
Despite all of that, the Portuguese newspaper then states it’s Manchester United currently ‘leading the way’, with Tottenham Hotspur also remaining keen.
