Portuguese side Arouca have reportedly signed the former Liverpool striker Toni Gomes.
According to local newspaper Record this Tuesday, the player is leaving Anfield Road to sign a three-year deal with the Liga NOS side.
Toni Gomes has played for Liverpool’s academy for over four years, and has spent the last six months on a loan at League Two side Forest Green.
The 19-year-old has never really had a chance to play for Liverpool’s first team, having only made appearances for the U18 and U23 squads.
Outlet O Jogo is another one who confirms the move on their website, despite not having an article in their paper edition.
They also have no big information on the transfer, so there’s no clear reason why the teenager has left the Reds.
As Gomes’ contract with Liverpool was supposed to expire this month, we can only assume he’s joining Arouca on a free move.
