Manchester City links with Sergi Roberto have reemerged over the past few weeks. The Barcelona player was thought to be available for a transfer, especially after the 8-2 battering from Bayern Munich.
Barca are looking to ship a list of players out, and Roberto has been included in most of those pushed by the Catalan media.
Mundo Deportivo report on Monday that Ronald Koeman sees the versatile player as a midfielder, and a midfielder only. He’d have to fight to have a place in the centre of the pitch, and wouldn’t be given opportunities at right back any longer.
When it comes to Manchester City, it’s stated the player has an offer from the Premier League club. That’s one of two approaches the 28 year old has received, with the other coming from an unnamed side.
Barcelona are yet to hear anything themselves from City or elsewhere, however, it’s made clear the Blaugrana are open to a sale, with Mundo saying ‘they’d listen to it’ should a proposal arrive.
