Tottenham are eyeing a double raid on Serie A for Milan Skriniar and Dusan Vlahovic as they plan to spend big in January.
That’s according to TMW journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, who says Antonio Conte has drawn up and agreed on a list with director of football Fabio Paratici to bolster his squad.
With Conte having a ‘list of names agreed with Paratici’, the club is ‘ready’ to make an ‘assault’, and the first of their targets is Skriniar, who they were looking at before signing Cristian Romero in the summer.
His contract at Inter Milan expires in 2023, and there is no sign of a new deal, meaning the Serie A side will be forced to sell next summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2023.
There was already talk of a possible attempt from Tottenham in the summer, but there were ‘difficulties’ at that point, so Spurs turned to Romero instead.
But now they would like to ‘try again’, although it would be ‘practically impossible’ for them to convince Inter to sit at the negotiating table in January.
The same cannot be said of Fiorentina for Vlahovic, with them more than willing to sell in January, given the player won’t sign a new deal at the club.
He is wanted by many foreign clubs as well as Juventus, but Tottenham see him as the replacement for Harry Kane, who ‘should leave’ next summer.
The young Serbian is considered ‘one of the right profiles’ to replace their talisman, and Tottenham could ‘invest a lot of money’ to get him ahead of the competition.
There is no movement at this point, but Ceccarini says it is a track to be ‘carefully monitored’, with Spurs ready to make moves to appease Conte.
