As we’re facing another summer where Serie A clubs battle to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, the striker is all over the Italian media.
Today, the player was seen speaking to VTM in Belgium, and outlet CalcioMercato.it shares some of his quotes.
Lukaku was asked about his future, and claimed he already envisages where he’ll land next, even though he’s not revealing it for now.
“In my head I already know what will happen. I will make a choice and when I explain it, everyone will agree. I have always made the right choice. It’s like being in a relationship with a woman. If we no longer ‘click’, why stay together?” said Lukaku.
Chelsea recently have loaned Lukaku out to Inter Milan and AS Roma in recent seasons. This time, it’s the likes of AC Milan and Napoli who are now said to be battling for his signing.
The striker’s contract with the Blues still runs until 2026, and despite the new change of manager at the Stamford Bridge side, a return to the club isn’t even something considered.
The Italian media has been talking about the many formulas that Serie A sides could use to get Lukaku signed from Chelsea this summer, and there’s hardly any conversation about an interested side showing up with a decent amount of money to make a normal purchase.
