For the past few weeks, we’ve covered the situation surrounding Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Patrick Cutrone in a great level of detail, and the bottom line was he appeared to be staying in Italy.
He’d move away from Fiorentina, where he has struggled to get any kind of meaningful game time under either Beppe Iachini or Cesare Prandelli, and the amount of interested clubs in Serie A suggested he would remain in the league.
However, a new request has requested to enter Daniele Pradè’s Zoom chat, and that’s Marseille in France.
According to Sky Italia, the Ligue 1 side, desperately trying to find a new striker to help out Darío Benedetto, have come forward to ‘inform themselves’ about two goalscorers in Serie A.
One is the Wolves player, with the other being Arkadiusz Milik at Napoli, who would be considerably more expensive at €12m+.
There’s no mention of an offer or whether Marseille will pursue this Cutrone deal beyond what has currently happened, but it’s one to keep an eye on, as the prospect of playing under André Villas-Boas could peak his interest.
Either way, he isn’t returning to Molineux, as has already been made clear, but this presents those in charge at Wolves with a different option to work with.
