Unless something drastic changes between now and the end of the season, it would appear that Yohan Cabaye will leave Crystal Palace in the summer.

Yet to renew with the Eagles, the now-veteran midfielder will be out of contract in June, and that has attracted some interest from Marseille in France, according to Le10 Sport.

At first glance, the link makes sense, purely on the basis of the player’s relationship with the Ligue 1 side’s manager Rudi Garcia, having starred under him at Lille prior to his move to Newcastle.

However, for Marseille to make a move, something rather big would need to happen: Morgan Sanson would have to leave.

Le10 Sport explain there have been some ‘uncertainties’ about the club’s star midfielder’s future, although that seems a bit far fetched.

On course to feature in a Europa League final and fighting for a Champions League spot in Ligue 1, there seems to be very little to be displeased about in the south of France these days, especially since Sanson is one of the key members of the first-team, having already featured 48 times this season.

The ‘Cabaye Plan’ appears to be solely in place in case of the 23-year-old’s departure in the summer, and we’ve got a gut feeling that isn’t going to happen.

Especially since Marseille are yet to even offer the Crystal Palace midfielder a contract.
