In the last week of the summer transfer window, Manchester United allowed Diogo Dalot to join AC Milan on a season-long loan deal.

The fullback was left on the bench in the last two league matches and is yet to make his debut in Serie A.

Dalot, however, has two appearances in the Europa League, and had a huge impact in his side’s 3-0 win over Sparta Praha, managing a goal and an assist on Thursday.

The Portuguese defender expressed his delight after scoring his first goal in the second tier European competitions and also talked about his first few weeks at San Siro.

“I am a happy man. We had a great performance, we found the victory. Then personally I put in a goal and an assist. I am satisfied at the highest level,” Dalot told Sky Sport in Italy.

“I’m working hard. I’m looking for the way back to the top and I feel like I’m improving. But above all to be in the right place: here at Milan I immediately found myself very well.”

On October 30th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Italian side don’t have an option to make the 21-year-old’s loan deal permanent.

It was also stated Stefano Pioli’s side could make a move for the United owned player, depending on how he does in the coming months.

Dalot’s contract with United is until 2023 and on the topic of his future beyond this season, he said: “Let’s see what happens at the end of the season. For now I don’t want to think about it: I’m 100% focused on Milan and that’s it.”
