Earlier on Thursday, we covered an article explaining that Wolverhampton Wanderers had joined the race to try and sign Victor Nelsson from Galatasaray.
Already seeking an exit in the summer, the Denmark international never got his wish, and now has to wait until January, at the earliest, for something to happen.
It was claimed that Wolves are considering to make a move, and there are some who would happily seem him leave Istanbul, such as former player and manager Ümit Karan, speaking on Sky Spor’s YouTube channel, relayed by Kucuk Saat.
He said: “Nelsson didn’t inspire much confidence either. Can you keep a player by force? Then let him go. No one is bigger than Galatasaray. Okan [Buruk] will open the door, take him out. I’d fire him. I would send the player who doesn’t want to stay away.”
Therefore, the feeling is very much that a move to Wolves, or anywhere else, would be best for the centre-back, whose heart seemingly is no longer at Galatasaray.
Whether that helps the Premier League side get their man in January remains to be seen, but it’s worth noting that the 25-year-old has fallen out of favour at his club of late, starting just the one game so far in the Champions League, in the opener against FC Copenhagen.
