Injured in the friendly against Villarreal, Wesley Fofana is expected to be out for the foreseeable future.
Brendan Rodgers confirmed the Leicester City starlet had fractured his fibula, but due to the swelling around the injury, they had to wait a bit more before knowing exactly how long his recovery would be.
L’Equipe have an article on the matter on Thursday, and explain an MRI ‘should allow to know which ligaments have been touched and how badly’.
Once that’s been diagnosed, the expectation is Fofana ‘will be operated, probably this weekend’ or ‘early next week at the latest’.
He’ll do so in England, where he’ll then undergo his rehabilitation to return as best he can for Leicester’s first team.
All in all, depending on the severity of the injury, L’Equipe explain he should be out for ‘three to five months’, but his return to the pitch ‘isn’t really expected before the end of the year’, and most likely ‘from January 2022 onwards’.
