It appears that Leicester City are once again going to have to make do without Wesley Fofana this week as they prepare to face Chelsea.
If we’re going to be honest, this was the game we all expected the young centre-back to miss, since the Blues have been pushing very hard to acquire the player’s services this summer.
Still, RMC Sport in France are reporting that Brendan Rodgers, whose press conference ahead of the game is scheduled at 1.30pm, ‘will once again do without’ the 21-year-old.
Fofana ‘will not be in Leicester’s squad’ for Saturday’s clash, and the Foxes continue to demand ‘nearly €100m to sell their player’, which, should it happen, ‘would make him the most expensive defender in history’.
Having already turned down three offers from Chelsea for the player, it remains to be seen how much longer the King Power Stadium residents can make their stand.
That’s because the Blues ‘will try everything, until the end of the transfer window’ to get their man.
Fofana played in the first two games of the season for Leicester, but was left out of the clash entirely against Southampton last week, with Rodgers making it clear his head had been turned by Chelsea’s advances.
