Leicester City are in ‘pole position’ to sign striker Charles de Ketelaere from Club Brugge this summer.
That’s according to Il Mattino, who put the Foxes at the front of the queue for the young striker’s signature.
The newspaper explains that De Ketelaere is ‘one of the most interesting’ profiles on the European football scene, having established himself as a star in the making for Brugge.
His displays have ‘made everyone’s ears twitch’, and there is interest in Italy from Napoli and AC Milan.
However, getting the young Belgian will be ‘complicated’ for them though because it’s believed the Premier League ‘looms’ and seems to ‘attract’ the player more at this moment in time.
Leicester are one of the sides in England who are keen and are ‘already on his trail’ and, in fact, seem to be the club in pole position for the summer.
What that means isn’t made clear, so there’s no indication of why or how they’ve gotten ahead of the competition, just a belief that if Milan or Napoli want to get De Ketelaere, they will have to somehow usurp Brendan Rodgers and co to do so.
We’re sure that’ll come as good news to Leicester fans, who will be enthused to hear their side are potentially leading the race for one of the hottest prospects in Europe.
