A couple of days ago, Leicester City’s Nampalys Mendy made it extremely clear that he wanted a move to Bordeaux this summer, with his agent confirming he would ‘everything possible’ to get his client the move.
Explaining he was ‘obsessed’ with the idea of leaving the King Power Stadium and teaming up with Jocelyn Gourvennec in the south-west of France, the 25-year-old is also someone the Ligue 1 side are looking at.
Bordeaux manager admitted that Mendy was a potential target if they wanted to bring someone in to bolster their midfield, Sud-Ouest on Thursday revealed a bit more information suggesting a deal could very well get done.
Explaining the situation, the local newspaper say Leicester are ‘open to the idea’ of letting the defensive midfielder leave the club on loan, and that Bordeaux’s manager had already held talks with the player.
While no official move has been made, and Sud-Ouest make that clear by saying a lot still needs to be sorted out, like whether or not there would be an option to buy, or even the player’s wages, things appear to be on the right track.
We expect this one to now be a recurring story over the coming weeks, especially since everyone appears up for the move to happen.
