Often linked to Everton, Wesley Fofana has also been a person of interest for Leicester City in the Premier League.
The young centre-back has emerged as the successor to William Saliba at Saint-Étienne, and while there have been many rumours suggesting he could follow in the now Arsenal defender’s footsteps, the preference has always been to stay in France an extra year.
That, however, has not put off the clubs interested in his services, as Le10 Sport claim Leicester are ‘far from giving up’ when it comes to Fofana, as they ‘continue to follow very closely’ his situation.
In fact, the French website go as far as saying Brendan Rodgers’ side could make another attempt and ‘try again’, stating an ‘official offer’ is ‘likely’ in the coming weeks from the Foxes.
The 19-year-old enjoyed his first full season in Ligue 1 this year after being brought up to the first-team squad back in October.
Following that, he started 13 of the 16 games he was selected in the match squad for, scoring one goal in a 4-1 win over Nice in December.
