Having left Kasper Schmeichel head to OGC Nice, Leicester City will now be looking for a new goalkeeper.
The Dane was allowed to leave after many years of service at King Power Stadium, and the aim will be to bring a younger replacement in to fill the slot long-term.
That’s where someone like Alban Lafont, 23 years of age, fits the bill, and Media Foot in France are reporting Leicester’s interest in the shot stopper.
They explain the young goalkeeper’s profile is ‘extremely liked’ by those in charge of the Foxes, with his performances over the past year ‘clearly working in his favour’.
Lafont is reportedly being followed ‘very closely’ by Leicester, but it’s then pointed out that Nantes aren’t interested in selling at all.
That being said, if a ‘good offer, superior to €20m’ were to land on their table, ‘how could they refuse?’
It’s something to keep in mind, as Leicester will need someone in the very near future, with neither Danny Ward nor Daniel Iversen seen as the long-term solution in the role.
