Earlier today, we covered an interview Wesley Fofana held with the French media regarding his aspirations to make it to the France national team.
He’s settled in nicely at Leicester City, and the centre-back was called up for the upcoming international fixtures to represent his country at U21 level.
It’s a step below what he wants to achieve, but he remains on the right-track, being a regular at a Premier League side and for his nation’s youth at the age of 19.
That being said, he may not be able to play as much as he wants during the upcoming international break, as Goal France’s Benjamin Quarez is reporting the defender is nursing a ‘small problem to his knee’.
Fofana will be ‘evaluated’ by the France U21 staff before a decision is made, which will likely affect his eligibility for the upcoming game against Liechtenstein.
If it’s nothing too serious, he would be expected to stay with the squad for the Switzerland game next Monday.
