Adrien Silva may not have authorisation to play for Leicester City until the winter transfer window, but even if he had, it’s likely he would be out of the match-day squads for a while.
That’s because as reported by Jornal de Notícias this weekend, the midfielder has travelled to Portugal for a few days as a short vacation, and will take the chance to treat a rib injury.
The midfielder actually got injured in the game against Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League playoffs in late August. That’s why he missed what could have been his farewell for Sporting in the league, ahead of the troubled move to Leicester City.
The injury isn’t a big concern, since he’s trained with the club and national team since then, but that it’s referenced makes clear there’s an issue for the player.
After these days off, Adrien is expected at Leicester City to get back to work normally, as the club still try to convince FIFA to allow him to play.
