Earlier this week, we covered a story from the Brazilian media reporting Leicester City’s interest in the Botafogo youngster Luís Henrique.
It was claimed the Foxes have scouted the forward this year, and liked what they’ve seen from him live.
Now it’s time for Globo Esporte, the biggest sports outlet in Brazil, to have a take on the subject.
They say they’ve managed to confirm that the player is being followed by clubs from Germany, Portugal, England, Spain and Italy. But none of the clubs are named, and there’s nothing ‘concrete’ so far.
Their report also managed to speak to the player about this interest, and he had a little to say about a departure from the Brazilian side.
“It makes me happy and much more motivated to dedicate myself to Botafogo. Regarding the values, it doesn’t matter much to me. Of course it’s a good thing, but I think it’s a consequence of my work.
“If there was an approach I don’t know, this is with my agents. They always tell me to take care on the pitch and they’ll do it off. I believe that when I have a proposal, they will talk to me.”
Globo Esporte says Luis Henrique has just signed a new contract with Botafogo, and is protected by a release clause of €30m. His first few games for the first team have made him the biggest prospect at the Rio de Janeiro side.
