This morning, Portuguese newspaper Record claimed that Leicester City would be ready to make a bid for Sporting’s Adrien Silva in case they lost Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea
Now it’s another local source, O Jogo, on the story and they claim an offer has actually been made. They say Leicester have delivered a €15m bid for the midfielder.
The outlet still doesn’t have any updates on whether Sporting will accept the offer or not, although Record said the Lisbon club were demanding €25m.
Adrien Silva was very close to joining Leicester City this time last year, when the club had offered €30m for him. But Sporting stopped the deal at the last minute, saying he wouldn’t leave for less than his release clause, which stands at €45m.
At that time, the player gave an interview to O Jogo explaining how excited he was to move to Leicester City. So the newspaper certainly has some good contacts around Adrien Silva, which would back up their claims.
