Leicester City and Southampton are two of a number of clubs credited with interest in Bobby Wood by this week’s edition of SportBild. The German magazine has a piece on growing interest in the Hamburg forward, due to some impressive performances this season.
There’s interest from the Premier League, with Leicester and Southampton among those named, but also from within the Bundesliga.
Wood has a clause which allows him to leave for just €5m this summer if Hamburg are relegated. The club are currently 14th and just one point above 16th, a place that would see them in a relegation play-off.
Should Hamburg remain in the Bundesliga, the set price for Wood is €12m. Neither figure is too high for Leicester or Southampton, but the lower one could represent a bargain for the US international.
Wood can play as a forward down the middle or on either wing, potentially a decent squad option for Claude Puel or Craig Shakespeare.
