Rumours around Zenit’s Sardar Azmoun have been building in the European media for the past week or so.
Coverage has been regular in both Spain and Italy, and that’s because Sevilla and Napoli are thought to be interested. West Ham were the subject of an Italian story last week, and on Monday Spanish newspaper AS brings Leicester City into the picture.
There’s no mention of West Ham this time, with Everton are also pulled in, and it’s claimed the player is ‘on the radar’ of the Toffees and Foxes.
Last week’s Italian reports put a potential price at €35-40m, but AS have other ideas for Sevilla. They believe Zenit may sell for less than €20m, given how the Covid-19 crisis has impacted football finances.
Should that be the case then it would be fortunate for Leicester City and the other clubs interested, although just because the Spanish media, and potentially Sevilla, feel a knockdown price is appropriate, there’s no guarantee Zenit will agree.
Azmoun, a striker, has scored 14 goals in 29 matches for Zenit this season, and added seven assists.
